About Akshay
Akshay Bhatia took an unconventional route to the PGA Tour, turning professional straight out of high school rather than pursuing college golf. A talented left-hander from California, Bhatia was the youngest member of the victorious 2019 U.S. Walker Cup team and won two silver medals at the 2018 Youth Olympic Games. His early decision to turn professional reflected a confidence in his game and a desire to compete against the world’s best as quickly as possible.
Bhatia earned his first PGA Tour victory at the 2023 Barracuda Championship, then won the 2024 Valero Texas Open in a playoff. That breakthrough earned him a Masters invitation, adding another milestone to a career that has advanced quickly. In 2026, he captured the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill, claiming the title in a playoff.
