Jon Rahm grew up in Barrika, Spain, a town not far from the city of Bilbao in the Basque Country. His favorite player and inspiration was the legendary Seve Ballesteros.
While at Arizona State University, Rahm became the first golfer to win the Ben Hogan award in two consecutive years. The award is given to the best player in college golf in the United States.
In 2021, Jon became the first Spaniard to win the U.S. Open, birdieing the final two holes at Torrey Pines to finish at -6 and beat Louis Oosthuizen. It was Jon's first major title.
