Michael Thorbjornsen has been on a path toward professional golf’s biggest stages since his standout days as an amateur. A former Stanford University star, Thorbjornsen won the 2018 U.S. Junior Amateur and finished fourth at the 2022 Travelers Championship while still in college, announcing himself as a young player capable of competing with established PGA Tour professionals. He later became the second player to earn PGA Tour membership through a No. 1 finish in PGA Tour University, which recognizes the best collegiate golfers.

Thorbjornsen turned professional in 2024 and has continued to build on his promising foundation. His first PGA Tour victory came at the 2026 Rocket Classic, where he produced a bogey-free final-round 63 to erase a four-shot deficit and win by two strokes. Known for his athleticism, power and competitive confidence, he represents a new generation of players making the jump from college golf to the professional spotlight. His journey from accomplished amateur to PGA Tour winner is only beginning.
