Bonnie Link

The term “bonnie” means “pretty” or “beautiful”, which describes this setting in the hills of Scotland.

The “link” in the name refers to not only the “links” style golf commonly played in Scotland, but also the way the hole looks like a “chain link” from top down.

Only a leap of faith and a 310-yard carry blind tee shot will deliver the angle for those going for the green in two. The more conservative route off the tee can be found by choosing either the left or right fairways, and then navigating in three from there.

Hole Strategy

Hole Designer: Pizá Golf

Agustín Pizá talks us through his design process and shares strategy tips for playing Bonnie Link:

Agustín says: "This is one of my favorite holes. A par 5 of 650 yards that caters to different shot types.

"It all started on my sketch book when I created an infinite symbol. On the first part of the hole, the longer you can hit on the left or the right, it will give you a better reward towards the second shot. There is a top reward if you can clear 330 yards from that tee box through the center, it does give you a great reward with a speed slope that takes you all the way to the mid-point where you would have maybe a 3-wood onto the GreenZone.

"You have to pick and choose real careful where and how you play this hole."
