Rory McIlroy has spent more than 100 weeks as World No. 1 during his career so far.
Along with Tiger Woods and Jack Nicklaus, Rory is one of only three players to win four majors by the age of 25.
He was given an MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) in 2012 at the age of 22 for his services to golf.
Rory planned to attend East Tennessee State University on a golf scholarship, but after a successful year in 2005, he decided to give up the college scholarship and continue to play amateur golf in Europe.
Rory is married to Erica Stoll and the couple have a daughter together, Poppy Kennedy.
