Patrick Cantlay has joined the season one roster of TGL players, announcing his commitment ahead of the league’s launch in 2025.
The eight-time PGA TOUR winner is the latest confirmed participant ahead of the first season, which launches in early 2025 at SoFi Center on the campus of Palm Beach State College.
Cantlay is no stranger to team golf as he just competed for the U.S. Team in Italy at the recent Ryder Cup at Marco Simone Golf & Country Club in Rome. It was his second Ryder Cup appearance.
“The more I talked to the other players involved in TGL, the more I wanted to be a part of the competition. This is a great opportunity to move golf forward providing something for our core fans while also showcasing our sport in a new, tech-forward, prime time and more digestible format.” said, Cantlay.
Here’s the list of TGL players for season one:
- Tiger Woods
- Rory McIlroy
- Justin Thomas

Each TGL team will have four PGA TOUR golfers, and so far, four of the six teams have been announced: Los Angeles Golf Club (owned by Alexis Ohanian, Serena Williams and Venus Williams), Boston (owned by Fenway Sports Group), Atlanta Drive GC (owned by Arthur M. Blank) and New York (owned by Steven Cohen and Cohen Private Ventures).
Cantlay’s biggest career win to date came at the 2021 TOUR Championship, when he held off fellow TGLers Rahm, Thomas and Schauffele to win the FedExCup with a score of -21.
As he looks forward to more wins in the future, Cantlay said: “TGL will give us a chance to not only highlight our skills as players, but also showcase a little more personality than what fans traditionally see from us on the course.”
