The SoFi Cup Champions are back and ready to take on another season of TGL Presented by SoFi.
Season 1 of TGL featured a thrilling race to the finish line, with several worthy contenders vying to become the first team in history to win the title and hoist the SoFi Cup.
When it was all said and done, Atlanta Drive GC proved itself the top dog with a 2-0 sweep of New York Golf Club in the best-of-three Finals at SoFi Center. The confetti has since been cleared away and the slate wiped clean entering 2026, as Atlanta sets its sights on back-to-back championships.

First up? A rematch of the Finals as Atlanta opens the new season against New York at 3 p.m. ET Sunday, Dec. 28. The match will air live on ABC.
ATLANTA DRIVE GC SCHEDULE
Atlanta has had plenty of time to soak up its Season 1 triumph. Now it’s back to business and the squad will need to be dialed in from the get-go in the opening match against a New York team that came in hot in the second half and gave Atlanta all it could handle in a very close Finals.
The opener could set the tone for either team with a winning effort, while a loss will have them fighting an uphill battle. New York fell to The Bay in last year’s opener and spent much of the season scratching and clawing just to get back into the playoff picture.
There are no throwaway moments in TGL due to the fast-paced nature of the league – Atlanta could look back to just one or two key shots and moments from Season 1 that ultimately propelled them to the title.
Atlanta’s schedule doesn’t ease up in the second match, with a quick turnaround to face The Bay Golf Club at 5 p.m. ET Jan. 6. The Bay earned the No. 2 seed entering the 2025 postseason thanks in part to a win over Atlanta during a Presidents' Day Tripleheader. And they’ll be anxious to avenge a Semifinals upset loss that ended their season and sent Atlanta to the Finals last time out.
Atlanta finishes the 2026 slate with three matches in three weeks – first taking on Jupiter Links Golf Club at 5 p.m. ET Feb. 2 ahead of back-to-back matches as part of a Feb. 23 Doubleheader.
Atlanta Drive faces Boston Common Golf at 5 p.m. ET, followed by a primetime matchup with Los Angeles Golf Club at 9 p.m. for its final match of the regular season.
ATLANTA DRIVE GC ROSTER
Patrick Cantlay, Billy Horschel, Lucas Glover and Justin Thomas couldn’t have come together any better in Season 1, playing on their unique individual strengths to form a complete championship team.
Cantlay’s calm composure and analytical mind certainly made a huge difference from both a strategy and execution standpoint. “Patty Ice” made several clutch shots in crunch time, but his influence in Hammer strategy may have played an even bigger role throughout the season.
Atlanta finished with a +13 Hammer points differential, by far the most in the league, with Cantlay often making the tough calls in potential Hammer situations. He was voted as the No. 1 Hammer strategist by the other players after the season.
Horschel served as the energy guy, playing to the crowd and viewers at all times and firing up his teammates down the stretch whenever they needed a little juice.
He also led the league with eight Singles points won during the regular season. He and Cantlay tied for the league lead in playoff Singles points with five apiece. Horschel was money with the irons too, hitting 100% of greens in regulation throughout the regular season.
Accuracy was Glover’s game as well, with the veteran presence hitting the fairway on every tee shot he took in Season 1.
As for Thomas, he was the spark-plug every team needs. He was excellent on the live mic, bringing relentless competitiveness to every match. He didn’t lose a Singles hole at any point in the regular season, going 3-0-5 on the year. He was also the only player to make two putts from 23-feet or longer during the season.
Thomas announced in November that he had a successful microdiscectomy performed to address nagging hip pain, and he is expecting to be a factor for Atlanta’s repeat bid in Season 2.
SEASON 1 RECAP
Atlanta’s season began with a 4-0 shutout win over New York, a match that wasn’t nearly as competitive as those we’d see in the Finals two months later. It definitely set the tone for the championship run as the team formed an identity almost immediately, with Horschel busting out the "Dirty Birds" chain and embracing the Atlanta vibes from the start.
A Presidents' Day Tripleheader split followed, with Atlanta improving to 2-0 in a ridiculous comeback win over Los Angeles. Trailing 5-2 through 11 holes, Atlanta cut the deficit to 5-4 at the 13th when Horschel scored a two-point Singles win over Justin Rose with the Hammer in play.
Needing a win at the 15th hole to tie the match, Thomas chipped in for birdie to score a point and make it 5-5. Atlanta prevailed in a best-of-three, closest-to-the-pin Overtime to score a highly improbable win.
With very little time to regroup ahead of its next match against The Bay, Atlanta suffered its first loss of the season as The Bay prevailed with a 6-5 win.
Atlanta concluded the regular season with wins over Boston Common Golf (6-3) and Jupiter (9-1), then avenged its lone blemish with a 9-3 Semifinals win over The Bay to set up a best-of-three Finals Series with New York.
Resiliency was once again the theme in the opener, with Atlanta trailing 5-4 through 13 holes. Horschel tied the match at 5-5 with a win at the 14th, earning his third Singles point of the match. Cantlay then sunk a 6-foot birdie putt to take the 15th hole and give Atlanta a 6-5 win in the opener.
Things played out in similar fashion the following night, with New York taking a 3-0 lead through 10 holes to put themselves in great position to force a decisive third match. But Atlanta refused to give in, with Cantlay and Thomas earning points at Holes 12 and 13 to make it 3-2. Atlanta threw the Hammer at hole No. 14 with Horschel matched up against Rickie Fowler and New York accepted, not wanting to forfeit the match-tying point.
Horschel then provided the highlight of the season with a 17-foot, 10-inch birdie make to give Atlanta a 4-3 lead and ultimately propel them to victory in the inaugural Finals Series.
