Here’s the latest on the state of the race for a postseason spot in Season 2 of TGL presented by SoFi.

Season 1 champion Atlanta Drive GC is back at the top of the SoFi Cup Standings at the midway point, but they’ve got company. Boston Common Golf is off to an ideal start after finishing last in 2025 and looks like a top Finals contender with three matches still to play in the regular season. Atlanta Drive has played one match more than Boston Common Golf.

Two playoff participants from last season are currently outside the postseason bubble, but the standings are tight and everything is still up for grabs as the action ramps up at SoFi Center.

The top four teams in the SoFi Cup Standings at the end of the regular season qualify for the playoffs.

Editor's note: If multiple teams have the same number of points, the first tiebreaker is Holes Won. If multiple teams have the same number of points and the same number of Holes Won, the next tiebreaker is Singles Holes Won.

Atlanta and Boston are out ahead of the pack with two wins apiece. While Atlanta has one loss on the year, the Ballfrogs are unbeaten and totally in control of their own destiny.

The two frontrunners will go head-to-head at 5 p.m. ET Monday in a match that will shape the playoff race the rest of the way. If Boston wins in regulation, it clinches a playoff spot. That match is the first of two on Monday night, with Atlanta finishing its regular season in the nightcap against Los Angeles Golf Club.

Boston Common Golf then faces New York Golf Club on Tuesday Feb. 24 and plays its final regular season match March 1 against Jupiter Links GC.

The winner of Boston-Atlanta will be in the driving seat for the No. 1 seed – a loss for Atlanta would put the defending champs at risk of missing the postseason, while Boston would remain in decent standing even with a defeat on Monday.

TGL Season 2 So Far

It’s still anyone’s game with all six teams still harboring realistic playoff hopes at this point in the season. Every team has won at least one match and Boston is the only unbeaten squad, outscoring opponents 16-6 in wins over Los Angeles and The Bay.

Atlanta appeared to be in total control after a 2-0-0 start with wins over New York and The Bay. Then, Jupiter scored an 8-6 win over Atlanta for its first victory of the year to completely shake up the six-team standings.

Third-place Los Angeles, fourth-place Jupiter and fifth-place The Bay have identical 1-2-0 records and little separation in Holes Won – the first tiebreaker used to determine the top four playoff teams if necessary. LAGC has 15 Holes Won so far, Jupiter has 13 and The Bay has 12.

While winning is always the top priority, staying aggressive and winning as many holes as possible will be crucial for every team down the stretch to separate from the middle of the pack.

New York Golf Club is currently in last at 1-1-0, bouncing back from an opening night loss to Atlanta with a win over Jupiter.

Conversely, The Bay Golf Club can get right back in the mix with a win over New York and begin to turn things around after finishing second in the regular season a year ago.

POSTSEASON FORMAT EXPLAINED

The top four teams in the final standings qualify for the postseason, with fifth and sixth place eliminated. Total number of holes won throughout the regular season serves as the first tiebreaker.
