11 TGL players are set to take on the Cognizant Classic of the Palm Beaches, teeing off on Feb. 29.
The Florida Swing begins for the PGA TOUR this week--first stop, Palm Beach Gardens. PGA National Resort's Champion Course will host the Cognizant Classic of the Palm Beaches (formerly the Honda Classic), and we've got 11 TGL'ers ready to tee it up.
There's already been one TGL winner on the PGA TOUR this year when Wyndham Clark took home the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. Could we get another in South Florida?
Atlanta Drive GC
Billy Horschel and Lucas Glover, who both currently reside in Florida, are in the field at Cognizant.
Horschel, a native Floridan and University of Florida graduate, will be a fan favorite this week as he makes his 12th start in the event. He's had two top-10s with his best finish at T4 in 2017. Cognizant will mark Billy's fifth event this season, and so far his best golf this year was played at the Sony Open in Hawaii where he had a T18 finish.
Glover will be making his lucky 13th appearance at the event in Palm Beach Gardens, looking to beat his personal best T4 in both 2013 and 2019. He's positioned to have a solid week as it's a "hometown" event for Glover and he's had a week off after his T35 finish at The Genesis Invitational.
Boston Common Golf
Rory McIlroy will be the lone Ballfrog in the field this week but the Jupiter resident should feel right at home in South Florida, returning to the event after a five-year hiatus. McIlroy was the event's 2012 champion and he's currently No. 2 in the World Golf Ranking, making him the highest ranked player in the field this week.
Ahead of Cognizant, Rory and fellow TGL'er Max Homa are taking on The Match on Monday at The Park at West Palm Beach with LPGA superstars Lexi Thompson and Rose Zhang.
Los Angeles Golf Club
Justin Rose will make his 11th appearance in the Palm Beaches for the Cognizant Classic. He had three consecutive top-five finishes in the event starting with a third-place finish in 2010 and then T5 in 2012 and T4 in 2013. Rose has made the cut in all four starts he has had this season with his best finish being T11 in Pebble Beach.
TGL Commits
Seven more TGL players are in the field this week and we've included the full 11-player list below:
2017 champion Rickie Fowler will make his 14th start at the tournament. He's also got three other top-10's here, including a runner-up finish in 2019.
Shane Lowry prepares to make his seventh apperance in the Palm Beaches from Thursday. The Jupiter resident was the event's 2022 runner-up, which also happens to be his best finish here.
Three-time PGA TOUR winner Tom Kim is a first-timer in the field at the Cognizant Classic of the Palm Beaches. He's No. 16 in the OWGR this week, which puts him in a solid position to make a great first impression at the tournament.
