Boston Common Golf vs. Los Angeles Golf Club: Ways to Watch
Course Preview: 15 Holes for Boston Common Golf vs. Los Angeles Golf Club
Course Preview: 15 Holes for Jupiter Links GC vs. Boston Common Golf
Rory McIlroy and Boston Common Golf don’t have to wait long for the opportunity to shake off a painful Overtime loss to Jupiter Links Golf Club.
The Bullfrogs are back and ready to go at 9 p.m. Tuesday night, matched up against Los Angeles Golf Club with first place in the SoFi Cup Standings on the line.
We’ll see what Boston has in store for an encore after a back-and-forth battle with Tiger Woods & Co that had the SoFi Center fans on their feet on Monday. Los Angeles, meanwhile, is looking to build on a nearly-flawless 12-1 win over JLGC earlier this month.
Both teams had players finish in the top five at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro Am, with Rory McIlroy taking home his 27th PGA TOUR title and Rose finishing T3.
The match airs live on ESPN and all six players will once again be mic’d up for the duration. TGL is also available to stream on ESPN+.
TV & STREAMING: How To Watch TGL In Your Country
In case you need a quick primer, let’s dive into the basics of the match.
TGL Explained
Three players from each team go head-to-head in a 15-hole match featuring two different formats – nine holes of Triples and six holes of Singles – across a selection of custom-designed holes.
Triples is an alternate-shot format where players will take turns teeing off from hole-to-hole and rotate hitting shots until the hole is finished. Individual players will go head-to-head in a predetermined rotation over the six Singles holes.
TGL 101: Everything you need to know about season 1
Every hole is worth one point unless the Hammer is played (more on that below). The team with the most points at the end of the match wins.
Los Angeles holds the honor on Tuesday and will tee off first and start with the Hammer, which raises the stakes of a hole by one point when played and accepted. The other team then takes possession of the Hammer and could choose to throw it on the same hole, making the hole worth three points, or hold on to it until later in the match.
Teams can decline the Hammer but by doing so concede the hole and the points on offer. However, teams can’t decline the Hammer when it is thrown before the first tee shot on a given hole (as Woods did vs. LAGC in the second match of the season).
The match will go to Overtime if tied after 15 holes, with teams competing in a best two-out-of-three closest-to-the-pin competition to determine the winner.
Lineups
Boston Common Golf: Rory McIlroy, Adam Scott, Keegan Bradley
Los Angeles Golf Club: Tommy Fleetwood, Collin Morikawa, Justin Rose

3 Things to Know
Strength in Numbers: This is the most in-form group of players yet at SoFi Center, going off the Official World Golf Ranking. Boston and Los Angeles have the highest combined rankings in the league, including four top-15 players in the OWGR teeing it up with Rory McIlroy (No. 3), Collin Morikawa (No. 4), Tommy Fleetwood (No. 11) and Keegan Bradley (No. 13) set to go on Tuesday. All six players have significant Ryder Cup or Presidents Cup experience as well.
Raising the Stakes: This is the second match for Boston and Los Angeles, with both teams earning points in the SoFi Cup Standings during their debuts. LAGC picked up two points for a regulation win over JLGC, while the Ballfrogs salvaged one point with an Overtime loss to JLGC. With four teams currently tied for first place, a regulation win for either team Tuesday night would give them the outright lead in the standings.
Going the Distance: Tuesday night’s result could swing on the five par 5s, only two of which will play longer than 600 yards. Boston has the longest average driving distance in the league at 321.9 yards, while Los Angeles is fifth at 308.2. However, LAGC went 4-0-1 on the par 5s in the win over Jupiter and won’t be rattled playing from further back in the fairway.
Singles Matchups
Rory McIlroy vs. Tommy Fleetwood: The Euros start things off at the 602-yard par-5, Bonnie Link, where McIlroy has the distance advantage having averaged nearly 20 yards more than Fleetwood off the tee on the PGA TOUR last season. Fleetwood’s steady approach should serve him well at the risk/reward par-4 13th, The Plank.
Adam Scott vs. Collin Morikawa: Morikawa hit every fairway in his first match compared to just 66.6% for Scott, so he could have an advantage at the par-4 11th, Bluebonnet, which doesn’t leave much room for error. But Scott will have all the good vibes at No. 14, Set in Stone, where he made a 31-foot birdie putt last week to tie the match in spectacular fashion.
Keegan Bradley vs. Justin Rose: The 2025 U.S. Ryder Cup captain and a European Ryder Cup stalwart go toe-to-toe at No. 12, Cliffhanger, where Bradley’s strong iron play could give him an edge. At 15, the final Singles hole, a new-look par 5 called Navigator will give both veterans plenty to think about.
The Course
Three new holes come into play this week at SoFi Center – Hang Low (No. 6, Par 4), Fallen Pine (No. 7, Par 3) and Navigator (No. 15, Par 5), adding a new strategy element for both teams in their second match.
HOLE DESIGNS: Check out the full library of TGL holes
The Claw, a par 4 players will see right out of the gate, and Pinery, a lengthy par 5, are back for just the second time in what will be another new course layout at SoFi Center.
HOLE SPOTLIGHT
No. 2, Pick Yer Plunder, 582 yards
Don't let the dramatic layout fool you at this par 5 - Pick Yer Plunder gave teams fits in Weeks 1 & 2, with four balls finding the penalty area and no birdies made. LAGC won the hole with a bogey in its last match and Boston will be getting its first look at this massive design.
Successfully aiming down the middle into an isolated strip of fairway will only leave about 200 yards into the green. There are safer options on either side, but players still have to take on the approach into an island green on their second or third shot. This is a fitting hole for Triples as it truly requires a team effort.
