Jupiter Links will face off against the leaders, The Bay Golf Club, on Tuesday night at SoFi Center.

The great thing about TGL presented by SoFi (and golf in general) is that when you lose a match or a tournament, there is almost always another important one just around the corner.

That’s the case for Jupiter Links Golf Club this week after its big loss to New York Golf Club last Tuesday. JLGC is right back at it on Tuesdaay against the top team in the SoFi Cup Standings, The Bay Golf Club, in what is shaping up to be a pivotal match for JLGC's playoff hopes.

It gets underway at 9 p.m. ET on Tuesday on ESPN.

The Bay Golf Club vs. Jupiter Links Golf Club

Wyndham’s shine

Wyndham Clark has been a star for The Bay. He is second in the league with 17 total points won on the holes he’s played.

“Lately, I've not been having very much fun on the [outdoor golf] course," Clark said after a Presidents Day victory over Atlanta Drive. "And so when I come into SoFi Center, I don't know what it is. I think it's a little bit of the team aspect, the atmosphere. I think it's kind of the lightheartedness, and I feel like I can just be myself and have fun and maybe say some things you wouldn't normally say on a golf course.

“I typically play well when I'm having fun and I'm loose, and I think that happens a lot in TGL.”

Homa Returns

JLGC will not only have to deal with the best team in the league so far, but it will do so without its biggest star in Tiger Woods. In his place will be Max Homa, who featured in Jupiter's opening match defeat to LAGC back in January.

While TBGC leads the league in driving accuracy, greens in regulation and scrambling, JLGC comes in fifth, sixth and fifth respectively in those categories. The GIR number is of particular interest as the gap between the two teams (78% to 42%) is enormous.

Porter’s Picks

Even without Ludvig Åberg, The Bay Golf Club looks too strong. Tom Kim is absolutely a spark plug for Jupiter, but JLGC’s play so far has been uneven across three matches. I'm giving it to The Bay, who may have already clinched a playoff spot if LA beats New York on Monday night.

As for individual matchups, this is how I see them playing out.

Min Woo Lee vs. Tom Kim: The most energy any Singles matchup has ever had to date. This is a tough one, but I’ll stay with Kim, who I am terrified to bet against in this league.

Shane Lowry vs. Kevin Kisner: Lowry has been terrific, and Kisner has been inconsistent, winning five points in his first 30 holes.

Wyndham Clark vs. Max Homa: I’ll ride with possibly the MVP of this season so far in Clark to take the victory over Homa, who has won one point in 11 holes played.
