While it didn’t result in many wins, Jupiter Links GC unquestionably earned the unofficial title of ‘most fun team’ in Season 1.

This season, fans will be hoping the team can provide more viral moments from inside SoFi Center. The players on Jupiter Links will just want them to come from more great shots and hole wins rather than, say, bunker shots that ricochet wildly off the pin.

HOW TO WATCH: Jupiter Links GC vs. New York Golf Club

Jupiter Links GC will have its hands full in its first match with a New York Golf Club team eager to even up its record after dropping the Season 2 opener 6-4 to Atlanta.

New-look Jupiter Links GC

Akshay Bhatia will be making his TGL debut on Tuesday, sitting in the leadoff spot as an alternate for Jupiter Links GC. Bhatia has become one of the most precise iron players in the world over the last 18 months: last season on the PGA TOUR, he ranked 9th in average proximity from the fairway, 12th in proximity from 150 to 175 yards and 14th in strokes gained approach per round.

That’s great news for Jupiter Links, which ranked dead last in TGL in strokes gained approach last season.

In Triples, Bhatia will hand the baton to Max Homa, who flashed glimpses of his old self coming down the stretch on the PGA TOUR in 2025. In Max’s last eight starts of the Tour season, he compiled a scoring average of 68.7, averaged just 2.2 bogeys-or-worse per round and had a pair of top-10 finishes.

Homa was working through a swing change while playing in SoFi Center a season ago. How the new-look Max fares in the ScreenZone this season is an intriguing storyline.

NYGC A Triples Threat

New York Golf Club’s match against Jupiter Links last season kicked off a sizzling Triples streak. In six matches played from that moment through the end of Season 1, NYGC did not trail once entering Singles (the streak ended on Dec. 28 against Atlanta Drive in the opening match of Season 2). NYGC now has 25 Triples points across both seasons – only The Bay Golf Club can match that total (also 25 points).

Rickie Fowler was part of more Triples holes won (22) than any other player last season. The inaugural season’s leader in holes played (83), Fowler will make his Season 2 debut on Tuesday.

Quick learning curve

One early season trend that might put a bit more wind in Jupiter’s sails comes from how well alternate players have performed so far. The teams to employ alternates so far this season – Michael Thorbjornsen with Boston Common Golf and Corey Conners and Chris Gotterup for Atlanta Drive GC – are a perfect 3-0 on the season.

Will the newcomer Bhatia thrive in his first TGL appearance? He might need to for Jupiter Links to open 2026 in the win column.

Rare season 1 sweep

When these teams met last season, New York Golf Club accomplished something no other team has matched since. NYGC swept the par 4 holes, marking the only time in 22 matches that one team has won all five of a specific hole type (par 3s, par 4s or par 5s).

That day, Jupiter hit just two fairways and two greens in regulation on those five par 4 holes. Meanwhile, New York hit approach shots to 12 feet or closer on three of them. Jupiter won just four par 4 holes in all of Season 1 – one of many statistics they would like to flip starting Tuesday.

Kisner vs. Young

Kevin Kisner and Cameron Young will anchor their respective teams in this match, lining them up for a head-to-head matchup in Singles. The veteran Kisner has been a match-play star throughout his pro career, but he’ll be facing an enormous disadvantage when it comes to distance facing off with Young. Last season in TGL, Kisner ranked last in average distance with driver at 283 yards. Young was second at 330 yards – a whopping 47-yard margin between the two.

The final hole of the match will be Sterling, a par 5 that has favored power in its TGL life so far. The team that outdrives the other all-time on Sterling has a record of 7-3-4 on the hole. When a player outdrives his competitor by 15 yards or more on the hole, they’re unbeaten – 3-0-3.

Young has each of the three longest drives ever hit at Sterling. Jupiter Links GC might be in buckets of trouble if the match is still in question on the 15th tee Tuesday.

Justin Ray's prediction: New York Golf Club to win (-138 at FanDuel Sportsbook, odds subject to change).
