Expands Access for Young Golfers in Boston with Youth On Course
Boston Common Golf announces a commitment to provide another 5,000 rounds of golf for youth across New England in partnership with Youth on Course, bringing the total number of rounds funded since the club’s founding in 2023 to 10,000.
Boston Common Golf today announced that it has funded 5,000 rounds of golf for local youth through its partnership with Youth on Course, an organization that expands affordable access to the game across Greater Boston and New England and reflects the club’s long-term commitment to growing golf in an inclusive and community-driven way. With this latest contribution, Boston Common Golf has funded 10,000 Youth on Course rounds since the club’s launch in 2023.
The 5,000 rounds build on the community-focused initiatives that have become central to the club’s identity in Boston and across New England. Since its inaugural season, Boston Common Golf has leveraged its TGL platform and its players to create meaningful, on-the-ground opportunities for young people to engage with the game.
In September, the club hosted a Junior Golf Day Clinic at Button Hole Golf Course in Providence, where Boston Common Golf Ambassador and Brockton native Megan Khang returned to the course she grew up playing to lead instruction and interactive stations for approximately 100 young golfers. Later that month, dozens of Youth on Course members participated in a Kids Clinic on the field at Fenway Park, experiencing hands-on instruction and competition in an iconic setting.
In December 2025, the club also visited Boston Latin School, home to the city’s only public-school varsity golf team, donating 2,500 Boston Common Golf frog-logo hats to students and staff and surprising the co-ed varsity team with customized equipment and swing evaluation opportunities. Boston Common Golf’s Dryvbox mobile simulator was on site, giving students the opportunity to swing alongside Khang and experience the game through innovative technology.
Together, these efforts reflect a long-term commitment to making golf more visible, more welcoming, and more accessible for the next generation. Boston Common Golf is also working collaboratively with local partners to explore opportunities to expand Youth on Course access to additional courses throughout the Boston area, with the goal of creating more playing opportunities for young golfers in the years ahead.
“As someone who grew up playing golf in New England, I know how powerful it is to simply have access to the game,” said Keegan Bradley. “When a young player gets the chance to step onto a course and feel welcomed, it can change everything. I’m proud to be part of a team that is investing in kids across our community and helping grow the game in a way that’s inclusive and meaningful.”
“Introducing more young people to golf is one of the most important things we can do for the future of the sport,” said Michael Thorbjornsen. “Opportunities like this help open doors - not just in golf, but in life, and I’m grateful to be part of a team that is adopting meaningful partnerships that focus on this effort.”
“Boston is a city built on strong neighborhoods, public spaces, and traditions,” said Mark Lev, President and CEO of Boston Common Golf. “Public golf courses have long been part of that fabric, and we believe they should be places where every young person feels welcome. Continuing our partnership with Youth on Course and funding these additional 5,000 rounds is one way we’re investing in the future of the game here at home.”
“Providing youth access to play is about much more than a round of golf,” said Adam Heieck, CEO of Youth on Course. “Each round represents an opportunity for young people to forge connections in their communities, build lifelong friendships, and creates new career pathways in golf and beyond. We’re grateful to continue this partnership with Boston Common Golf and look forward to more young people gaining access to this wonderful sport.”
