Avenue Sports Fund, led by Marc Lasry, is a fund of Avenue Capital Group, a global investment firm focused on making opportunistic credit and other special situations investments across the United States, Europe and Asia. Avenue, founded in 1995 by Marc Lasry and Sonia Gardner, draws on the skills and experience of over 60 investment professionals, more than 180 employees, and ten offices worldwide operating from its headquarters in New York. Avenue has assets under management of approximately $12.9 billion.

Andre Iguodala is a retired NBA All-Star who spent 19 years in the league. He also earned a gold medal with USA Basketball at the 2012 Summer Olympics.

Iguodala has a keen interest in business, and as his NBA career drew to a close, he ramped up his involvement in technology and start-up companies. He’s invested in major companies and co-owns other professional teams including Leeds United Football Club of the English Premier League, Bay FC of the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL), and NFL agency Athletes First (A1).

Klay Thompson is one of the most lethal shooters in the NBA. He’s won four NBA championships and earned five All-Star nods over his 10 seasons. Thompson also helped Team USA to gold medals at the 2016 Summer Olympics and 2014 World Cup.

Thompson has invested in several early-stage companies in the sports, wellness, and technology spheres, including Dapper Labs, Overtime, Turquoise Health, and Sundae.

Born in Barnsley, England, John Stones is a professional English footballer leading Manchester City and the English national team. He made his senior debut for the club in March 2012. In 2013, he was off to Everton and he spent three seasons in Merseyside before moving to Manchester City in 2016. Blessed with an excellent range of passing, his ability on the ball is unparalleled and he has gained several plaudits for his bravery on the ball.

He was also one of five City players named in the England squad for the 2022 World Cup finals. Extending silverware success, John Stones was part of the squad to win the UEFA Super Cup for the first time in the Club’s history. Stones was also part of the City squad who claimed the FIFA Club World Cup in December 2023.

Born in London but racing under the flag of Thailand, Alex Albon’s first word was in fact Italian. Idolizing Michael Schumacher and dreaming of one day racing in Formula 1. Graduating to the F1 big league in 2019, Alex Albon did his talking on track, earning a mid-season promotion to Red Bull Racing. In his rookie season, took top-six finishes in eight of his nine 2019 races with Red Bull. In 2022, Albon returned to the grid with Williams, where he has established a reputation as a fast qualifier and one of the biggest global names in the sport.

Leonardo Fioravanti started surfing at the age of four after he was inspired by his brother, Matteo, a surfer on the Italian national team. Leo's early achievements include winning the Ocean 4 Teens in Italy , the Moustik Tour in Capbreton, France, and Under 12 Champion in Portugal. Leonardo was selected by the Italian National Team to take part in the King of the Groms competition.

In October 2015, eight months after his vertebrae accident, he returned to surfing competitions and won the ISA Under-18 world title in Oceanside, California, the first Italian to do so. In 2022 Leonardo earned the biggest results of his career to date, winning the EDP Vissla Pro Ericeira on the WSL Challenger Series and finishing runner-up at the prestigious Billabong Pro Pipeline on the WSL Championship Tour.

When it comes to Olympic silver medallist Kanoa Igarashi, one thing is certain: he was destined to surf. Recently, Igarashi won the World Surf League Championship title, before placing 3rd at the WSL Rip Curl Pro, prompting his eventual qualification for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and now the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Igarashi’s father, Tsutomu, was a surfer in Japan before they moved to the USA. They moved specifically to Huntington Beach, California – dubbed ‘Surf City’ – with the intention of getting their children heavily involved in the scene. At 14, he was the youngest surfer ever to win the US National Championships for under-18s; going on to win the Governor’s Cup at the Surfing America Championships in the same year.
