Loot On The Line

Loot On The Line

Par 4 | 391 yds

Set in Bounty Bay, Loot On The Line is the par 4 sister of the par 5 Pick Yer Plunder. From the gold tee, players are faced with three options off the tee. The riskiest, and by far most rewarding choice, is going straight over the guardian bunker towards the green to a 27-yard-wide fairway requiring a 300-yard carry.

Choosing the right option is slightly more forgiving, requiring you to hit a fairway that is 37 yards wide and requires a 285-yard carry. With a solid drive, players will have a great angle into the green.

The safest play is to the left where the fairway is 70 yards wide. But even a great drive will leave an awkward angle into the green and the further left you miss it, the more blind and long your second shot will be.

Hole Strategy

Hole Designer: Pizá Golf

Agustín Pizá talks us through the design process on Loot On The Line and discusses how our teams may approach it:

Agustín says: "The first ever hole that we designed for TGL is a mid par 4. If you go straight down the middle there's this bunker there called The Guardian. Now The Guardian is there to guard that route.

"The middle of the face, that's the center line. It has a very slight runway where you have to really thread your driver right into it.

"On the right you have a wider area, once you break the 280-290 yard mark you will be able to grab onto the speed slope and it will take you a little bit further in.

"If you choose the easiest route, the left hand side, you only have to clear 270 yards, but if you don't thread that line on the right hand side then the speed slope works against you. Not only will you have a tougher shot in, but a blind shot on that par 4."
