At the intersection of tradition and innovation, Los Angeles Golf Club (LAGC) proudly reveals its new team logo, marking a significant milestone in the club's journey. As the flagship team of TGL presented by SoFi, a visionary team golf league developed in collaboration with golf legends Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy's TMRW Sports, PGA TOUR, and ESPN, LAGC's new logo reflects its unwavering commitment to creating an accessible and inclusive golfing experience for everyone.

A Fusion of Tradition and Modernity

LAGC's ownership, including renowned figures like Alexis Ohanian (Angel City FC), Seven Seven Six, Serena Williams, and Venus Williams, along with limited partners like the Antetokounmpo brothers, Alex Morgan, Servando Carrasco, and Michelle Wie West, sets the stage for a groundbreaking development. The new logo draws inspiration from Los Angeles' rich golfing heritage while embracing the city's dynamic culture, representing a bridge between golf's timeless traditions and its modern evolution.

Neal Hubman, Club President, expressed, "This development highlights the club's commitment to democratizing golf locally while sending a signal to golf fans everywhere that Los Angeles is and always will be a mainstay in the next generation of this sport."

Key Features of the New Logo
  • Fusion of Fonts: The juxtaposition of Old English and San Serif fonts symbolizes the connection between golf's tradition and its modern evolution in Los Angeles.
  • Iconic Monochrome: The team's black and white color palette pays homage to the city's renowned architectural landmarks, such as the Getty and LACMA.
  • Unifying Symbolism: The interconnected "L" and "A" in the logo mirror the sport's potential to unite diverse communities within LA.
  • Universal Driver: The golf club featured in the mark, a driver, represents an inclusive symbol of the sport, accessible to beginners and professionals alike.
  • Symbolic Grooves: Three grooves on the driver's head represent the three players who will proudly represent Los Angeles each matchnight in the 2025 season.

Kayla Green, Head of Marketing for the Club, added, "Our team logo is a visual representation of the commitment we’re making to our fans, uniting the communities of Los Angeles under the banner of this sport and furthering our promise to make golf more accessible - for everyone. We can't wait to see it proudly displayed on our players when they compete in the arena and within the local community."

A Collaborative Creative Effort

The brand identity was crafted in collaboration with Marcy Avenue, a multidisciplinary creative and strategy agency rooted in sports culture. Leading the design was Matthew Wolff, a creative director known for his groundbreaking work with sports brands, including Jordan x Paris Saint- Germain, Los Angeles Football Club, and Minnesota Twins.

Community-Centric Unveiling

Consistent with LAGC's commitment to the community, the logo was unveiled during an intimate event attended by 25 individuals within the Los Angeles golf creative community. Attendees engaged in meaningful discussions about advancing the game of golf within the Los Angeles community, emceed by Tisha Alyn (@tishaalyn). They were also invited to reveal the new logo in their own unique style, reflecting the club's ethos of building a professional sports team for the community, by the community.

Join the Celebration

Los Angeles Golf Club invites its fans and supporters to join in celebrating this momentous occasion. The new logo will prominently feature on the club's website, social media platforms, and merchandise, creating a cohesive visual identity that embodies LAGC's commitment to making golf truly their own.

Los Angeles Golf Club: Pioneering The Future of Golf

The city of Los Angeles is beloved for its rich sports culture, vibrant tech scene, and diverse community. Now, it is set to become the home of the next revolution in golf. The launch of the Los Angeles Golf Club (LAGC), led by Alexis Ohanian, lead founding investor of Angel City FC and co-founder of Seven Seven Six, represents a strategic move to integrate golf into the city's bustling culture and extend its reach online.

LAGC, the first team of the TGL, backed by TMRW Sports — a company founded by golf legends Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy — is all set to revamp the face of golf.

Ohanian's successful endeavors in establishing thriving communities through Reddit and through sports, most notably with Angel City FC, have set the stage for this ambitious project.

“Los Angeles is the perfect home for our TGL team. This city embodies the intersection of sports, technology, and entertainment, making it an ideal backdrop for the innovation and excitement we aim to bring to the world of golf and its fans,” said Alexis Ohanian, Founder, 776. “We see tremendous opportunities to leverage technology to bring golf closer to its fans and to provide an immersive and interactive experience that will captivate both seasoned golf enthusiasts and new fans. To wit, my wife Serena and I have enjoyed as Olympia's taken a liking to golf, so I'm proud to announce that they're both owners in this club as well — as is the little one on the way! This is another piece of the legacy I'm building for my family and I hope this team can become a part of many families' lives, too.”

With this significant step forward, golf fans can look forward to a thrilling season packed with competitive matches, captivating fan experiences, and innovative approaches to the sport

Here's what the TGL is all set to offer:

  • Six teams, each composed of four PGA TOUR players
  • A tech-forward venue, featuring custom designed holes with a cutting-edge short game complex
  • An immersive fan experience with every shot broadcast live during 2-hour, primetime televised matches
  • A season structure of 15 regular season matches, culminating in semifinals and final matches

“Los Angeles is a city of diversity, passion, and grit with diehard fans at the center of global entertainment. By choosing Los Angeles as our team's base, we hope to create a strong sense of community among golf enthusiasts and sports fans alike,” said Neal Hubman, President, LAGC. “We're in this to build a generational sports brand, help grow TGL into the next big sports league, and build an authentic community of those devoted to advancing the future of sport.”

With a number of popular golfers already on board for the inaugural TGL season, including Justin Thomas, Adam Scott, Collin Morikawa, Matt Fitzpatrick, Max Homa, Billy Horschel, Justin Rose, and Xander Schauffele, fans can look forward to an electrifying season starting January 2025.

This exciting project signals the dawn of a new era in the world of golf and is sure to attract golf enthusiasts and sports fans alike..
