Match Preview: Jupiter Links GC vs. Boston Common Golf
The Boston-Los Angeles cross-country rivalry is set to play out on a new stage Tuesday night in TGL presented by SoFi.
Boston Common Golf is teeing it up for the second consecutive week as Rory McIlroy, Adam Scott and Keegan Bradley square off with Los Angeles Golf Club’s Collin Morikawa, Justin Rose and Tommy Fleetwood, replacing Sahith Theegala in the lineup.
Jupiter Links Golf Club came out on top of a back-and-forth Overtime clash with Boston last week, so McIlroy and Co. will be looking to bounce back at SoFi Center against a Los Angeles squad that beat JLGC in its first match in an impressive 12-1 win.

Here’s a look at all 15 holes for Tuesday night. Los Angeles holds the honor (and Hammer), and Tommy Fleetwood and Rory McIlroy will be teeing off first for their teams.
Triples
No. 1: The Claw, Par 4, 436 yards
This isn’t exactly a handshake opener, with water lining the entire right side of the fairway. There’s plenty of room on the left, but the best chance at birdie requires threading the needle on the right side of the split fairway.
No. 2: Pick Yer Plunder, Par 5, 582 yards
Pick Yer Plunder has played as one of the toughest holes so far, with four penalties incurred in just two matches. Players have only reached the green in regulation 25% of the time despite several safe options off the tee.
No. 3: Oh Chute, Par 3, 155 yards
Only two in eight players have hit this green in regulation, so the pressure is on Bradley and Rose to come through. They should have a better look at it with the hole playing shorter than previous weeks from the front box.
No. 4: The Spear, Par 5, 586 yards
McIlroy earned a point at The Spear in Singles last week with a conceded birdie, so we know the tee shot fits his eye. This has proved to be a key swing hole with zero ties over three matches.
No. 5: On The Rocks, Par 3, 179 yards
Scott and Morikawa will be tempted to go pin-seeking here, with three approaches hit inside 15 feet in four matches. Tom Kim helped Jupiter force Overtime at On the Rocks last week when he threw a dart to two feet for an easy birdie.
No. 6: Hang Low, Par 4, 488 yards
Players will get their first look at Hang Low Tuesday night, with the debut par-4 presenting two options off the tee. The right side is generous but leaves a lengthy approach, while successfully cutting the corner on the left side leaves a straightforward up-and-down for birdie.
No. 7: Fallen Pine, Par 3, 194 yards
McIlroy and Fleetwood have the honors at Fallen Pine, a new addition to the rotation. Players will carry a large marsh area into the green and this looks like a great mid-iron test.
No. 8: Alpine, Par 4, 535 yards
This has been a bombers paradise, with two 360-yard drives recorded so far. But there’s still plenty of work to be done from the fairway on approach with a penalty area lining the entire left side of the hole.
No. 9: Pinery, Par 5, 601 yards
Triples concludes with a likely three-shotter at Pinery, where both teams failed to reach the green in regulation in its lone prior appearance. Sand comes into play almost everywhere and it’s one of the tighter designs we’ll see all night, with tall pines bordering either side of the fairway.
Singles
No. 10: Bonnie Link, Par 5, 602 yards
Rory McIlroy vs. Tommy Fleetwood
McIlroy and Fleetwood get Singles started with another lengthy par-5 that we’ve seen each of the past two matches. There’s been four pars and no birdies or bogies so far, but playing it safe might not be an option at this stage in the match.
No. 11: Bluebonnet, Par 4, 407 yards
Adam Scott vs. Collin Morikawa
A relatively short par-4, Bluebonnet hasn’t exactly been a birdie-fest through four matches. While players have hit the fairway 83% of the time, there’s been two penalties and zero putts made outside eight feet.
No. 12: Cliffhanger, Par 3, 189 yards
Keegan Bradley vs. Justin Rose
Bradley and Rose are set to take on this tricky par-3, where no birdie putts have been holed in four weeks. McIlroy made a 5-footer for par last week and prior course experience should be a big plus for both teams.
No. 13: The Plank, Par 4, 302 yards
Rory McIlroy vs. Tommy Fleetwood
The Plank is back in the lineup at what could be a pivotal point, with McIlroy and Fleetwood playing their second Singles hole. It’s a drivable par-4 with potential for fireworks from the Ryder Cup teammates.
No. 14: Set In Stone, Par 3, 164 yards
Adam Scott vs. Collin Morikawa
Scott will be thrilled to draw Set in Stone in Singles after making a 31-footer for birdie here last week, tying the match at No. 14. But Morikawa would love to flip the script this week at the penultimate hole.
No. 15: Navigator, Par 5, 590 yards
Keegan Bradley vs. Justin Rose
Another debut hole, Navigator is set on a Cape with water lining the right side of the fairway and three large bunkers on the left. Bradley and Rose can choose to lay up left, but likely won’t have a look at the green in two. It’s all about strategy, and it should be fun to see the crafty veterans think their way through.
