Here’s a look at all 15 holes for Tuesday night.
Triples
No. 1: The Plank, Par 4, 380 yards
The Plank presents a choice right out of the gate – players can club down and play it safe into this uphill, zig-zagging fairway, or pull driver and leave just a flip wedge into the green if placed correctly.
No. 2: Pick Yer Plunder, Par 5, 590 yards
The choices off the tee here are safe, risky and precarious. The left side is the safest. The right side is risky but gives players a chance to get home in two. The middle is guarded by a massive bunker, requiring a 300-yard carry, but leaves a great look at the green.
No. 3: Set In Stone, Par 3, 210 yards
The par 3 can play a variety of distances but there’s very little room for error off the tee as anything that misses the 41-yard surface will be unplayable.
No. 4: Boomerang, Par 5, 622 yards
The second par 5 slated for Tuesday’s Triples session is a three-shot hole in most situations, but it’s still possible to reach in two with a strong drive into the skinny right side of the fairway amid the New Jersey pine barrens backdrop.
No. 5: Craic On, Par 3, 175 Yards
Players will need to clear a front bunker on this shorter par 3 set in the linksland of Ireland.
TEAM PREVIEW: New York Golf Club
No. 6: Bluebonnet, Par 4, 450/343 Yards
Bluebonnet allows players to choose how much of the canyon fairway to take on from the tee box. Those closest to the canyon ridge will have much more green to work with on approach, but players who get too greedy will face disaster.
No. 7: Oh Chute, Par 3, 271 yards
This is the longest par 3 in TGL and looks the part off the tee, where players don’t have much room and can't miss right. Left misses will give some players a chance to scramble and save par.
No. 8: Flex, Par 4, 528 yards
Much like Pick Yer Plunder, Flex provides three progressively-risky options off the tee. The most heroic option is a 325-yard carry leaving a relatively straightforward up-and-down for birdie. Strategy in terms of Hammer and line selection will be critical on the penultimate hole of Triples.
No. 9: The Spear, Par 5, 604 yards
This is a very intriguing hole to conclude Triples, with the fairway pinched right around 300 yards - the average driving distance on the PGA TOUR. Big hitters will be rewarded with a good look at the green and potential eagle opportunity.
TEAM PREVIEW: The Bay Golf Club
Singles
No. 10: Serpent, Par 5, 627 yards
Rickie Fowler vs. Shane Lowry
Fowler and Lowry will get Singles started at this sizeable par 5, which snakes through a mountain backdrop and includes several slopes and elevation changes. Tee shot placement is crucial.
No. 11: Alpine, Par 4, 535 yards
Matt Fitzpatrick vs. Wyndham Clark
It’s all out there in front of players on this lengthy mountain par 4, where Fitzpatrick and Clark will square off Tuesday. The fairway runs right to left and favors a draw off the tee, with several speed slots included to reward bolder tee shots.
No. 12: Cliffhanger, Par 3, 240 yards
Xander Schauffele vs. Ludvig Åberg
Schauffele and Aberg will take on Cliffhanger on their first go at Singles and potentially take aim at a right-side slope, which feeds balls toward the green.
No. 13: Straight Up, Par 4, 464 yards
Rickie Fowler vs. Shane Lowry
Fowler and Lowry play their second Singles hole at Straight Up, where any miss to the left will find water off the tee. The right side is more playable but surrounded by sand, while tee shots closer to the water on the left have the big advantage into the green.
No. 14: On The Rocks, Par 3, 178 yards
Matt Fitzpatrick vs. Wyndham Clark
The final par 3 of the night, On the Rocks will see Fitzpatrick and Clark play into the island green on the penultimate hole of the match. Any miss will likely result in a penalty, which means the blood should be pumping here.
No. 15: Quick Draw, Par 5, 720/538 yards
Xander Schauffele vs. Ludvig Åberg
Schauffele and Åberg take on the final hole of the night, a dramatic par 5 set in a desert canyon. These two players are both big hitters, which means the island fairway that offers a shortcut to the GreenZone could be very tempting off the tee.
