The race is on to lock up a postseason spot in Season 2 of TGL presented by SoFi.

Jupiter Links Golf Club is fighting for its postseason future as it prepares to face Boston Common Golf, kicking off a stretch of three matches in three days as the Season 2 playoff picture takes shape.

The Ballfrogs have already locked up a No. 3 seed or better in the playoffs after finishing last a year ago, and they’ll be looking to secure the top seed to go from worst to first when they take on Jupiter at 9 p.m. ET Sunday on ESPN.

Los Angeles Golf Club and New York Golf Club are set to go toe-to-toe at 7 p.m. ET Monday on ESPN2 in a match with serious playoff implications. LAGC earned the No. 1 overall seed in Season 1 and will be looking for revenge against an NYGC squad that knocked them out of the race with a Semifinals upset a year ago.

It’s last call for the Season 2 playoffs when The Bay Golf Club and Jupiter Links Golf Club square off at 9 p.m. ET Tuesday in the regular season finale. TBGC is looking for a second straight postseason appearance after an 0-2 start, bouncing back with wins over Los Angeles Golf Club and New York Golf Club.

PLAYING ORDER REVEAL

LONG AND SHORT OF IT

Boston’s turnaround from last place to first starts with the driver. The Ballfrogs currently lead TGL in average driver ball speed (180 mph), average driver distance (326.6 yards) and average driver swing speed (123.6 mph).

Jupiter ranks last in all three categories, yet they lead the league in greens in regulation (73.3%). JLGC doesn’t want to get into a long drive contest with Boston. They simply need to keep it in play like they’ve done all season and utilize the Hammer properly when Boston gets out of position.

SINGLES MATCHUPS

Akshay Bhatia vs. Rory McIlroy: Singles begins at Caverns, the new par 5 set in a cave that debuted last week. Rory’s prowess with the driver will be helpful for Boston here. A different challenge awaits at Stinger, rewarding the low-trajectory shots that Bhatia has loved to hit throughout his career.

Max Homa vs. Hideki Matsuyama: Homa and Matsuyama are evenly-matched in terms of accuracy, so we’ll see if both decide to take on the skinny middle fairway on Loot on the Line that provides a great look at birdie – assuming the tee shot doesn’t end up in the water. Then it’s bombs away at the par 3 Cenote, where Homa may have the edge having seen this hole several times now to pick up how tee shots release off the massive backslope.

Tom Kim vs. Keegan Bradley: The anchor pairing begins at the par 3 On the Rocks - Bradley has scored better than Kim on the short holes in recent years and has a slight edge. They finish at Stone & Steeple, a short par 5 where Kim’s driving accuracy may give him the upper-hand.

PLAYING ORDER REVEAL

Here’s the order in which players will tee off for their teams:

TOP-NOTCH TRIO

New York has its hands full Monday night, taking on an LAGC lineup that boasts three of the top five players in the world in Fleetwood (No. 3), Rose (No. 4) and Morikawa (No.5).

These three played lights out in their recent victory over defending-champion Atlanta, winning the first three holes and cruising to a 7-3 win. NYGC doesn’t have a player currently ranked in the top 20, but this is a talented squad that battled its way out of an 0-2 hole to reach the Finals a year ago. We wouldn’t be surprised to see Fowler, Fitzpatrick and Young rise to the occasion.

SINGLES MATCHUPS

Justin Rose vs. Rickie Fowler: These two get head-to-head play underway at Pick Yer Plunder, a par 5 with three options off the tee. Rose has been completely dialed in with the fairway woods and will like the look of this one. Then it’s on to the par 4 Lavender Lane, another new hole that debuted last week. Fowler has the edge having already played this hole once in Triples, striping a 301-yard drive in the fairway.

Tommy Fleetwood vs. Matt Fitzpatrick: The Ryder Cup teammates are on opposite sides beginning at Bluebonnet, a very tricky par 4. They’ll also take a crack at Cenote, playing as the 14th – LAGC three-putted here in a rare misstep against Atlanta, so it’s redemption time for Fleetwood.

Collin Morikawa vs. Cameron Young: Morikawa and Young get going at the par 3 Fallen Pine, which wipes Young’s distance advantage off the board. But it certainly comes into play at the par 5 Quick Draw, where Young can let it fly off the tee.

THE COURSE

THE BAY GOLF CLUB vs. JUPITER LINKS GOLF CLUB

The playing order and course for Tuesday's match will be confirmed on Monday. As the final match of the regular season, both The Bay and Jupiter should know what they need to do to clinch a playoff spot by the time they tee off at 9 p.m. Tuesday night.

HAMMER DOWN

Jupiter struggled with Hammer strategy throughout Season 1, finishing last with a –12 Hamer points differential. While they have improved this year, JLGC currently sits T4 with a –4 points differential.

The Bay is T1 at +6 and has stayed alive in the playoff race by taking advantage of the Hammer at every opportunity. Jupiter will need to figure it out and be on point from a strategy perspective against a team that clearly knows how to swing a match at the proper time.
