Streets to the Greens - Celebrating our Day 1s in the Community

Streets to the Greens is a series where we highlight those in the LA community making the most out of what golf has given them. Here’s who we got to highlight in May:

Aaron Grimes: Pro Golfer and Co-Founder of Compton Country Club initiative, Aaron is helping reshape what golf looks like in LA. What started as a way to honor his roots has grown into a movement focused on creating access, opening doors, and inspiring the next generation.

“Golf is meant to be enjoyed by anyone who is courageous enough to try it.

“The culture of LA is a much-needed breath of fresh air to the game of golf."

Coming soon: Kevin Gigax, CEO of The Maggie Junior Golf & Community Foundation

There are a lot of local LA legends stepping into the world of golf in their own unique way. Who should we celebrate next?

The Loop - Exploring SoCal’s local tracks

The Loop is a series where our very own Ube Wolf travels to local favorites and gives us a flavor of what that course has to offer, why people love it, and what makes it unique.

The Loop, Episode 6 — Maggie Hathaway Golf Course: We took a look at the newly renovated course in LA at Maggie Hathaway. Hathaway was a pioneer, helping desegregate golf in the Los Angeles area, and her namesake course is as inclusive as it gets.

Youth can play for under $2, and anyone can play for under $10. The short, 9-hole par 3 course is quickly becoming a favorite in Los Angeles.

Wie West is a 5-time winner on the LPGA Tour and though she doesn’t play as often as she used to, Wie West looks to compete this weekend for a share of the $12,000,000 purse.
