Los Angeles Golf Club (LAGC), led by an ownership group of entrepreneur Alexis Ohanian, Serena Williams and Venus Williams, is one of six founding TGL teams, with more team announcements to follow over the coming months. Each team will consist of three PGA TOUR golfers, with rosters also set to be confirmed later this year before play begins in early 2025 at a purpose-built arena in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.

Ohanian, who was a founding investor of LA-based NWSL team Angel City FC, will co-own LAGC with his wife Serena, their daughter, Olympia, and Serena’s sister, Venus, making this truly a family affair rooted in the LA community.

“We see tremendous opportunities to leverage technology to bring golf closer to its fans and to provide an immersive and interactive experience that will captivate both seasoned golf enthusiasts and new fan,” said Ohanian, Reddit Co-Founder and Founder of tech company Seven Seven Six (776). “To wit, my wife Serena and I have enjoyed as Olympia’s taken a liking to golf, so I’m proud to announce that they’re both owners in this club as well — as is the little one on the way! This is another piece of the legacy I’m building for my family and I hope this team can become a part of many families’ lives, too.”

As the inaugural team of TGL and the newest addition to the LA sports scene, Ohanian is aiming to make a big splash and establish LAGC as a golf club representative of the city it calls home.
