Atlanta Drive GC returns to SoFi Center Sunday afternoon, nine months after its TGL Finals victory over New York Golf Club and ensuing celebration.

The SoFi Cup will be returned and a banner will be raised to commemorate Atlanta’s championship run.

Then the slate will be wiped clean and a new campaign begins, with New York taking on Atlanta at 3 p.m. ET on ABC to get the ball rolling on TGL Presented by SoFi Season 2. The Finals rematch figures to be tightly contested, with the last two matches between these teams coming down to the final hole.

PLAYING ORDER REVEAL

Here’s the order in which players will tee off for their teams on Sunday afternoon:

3 THINGS TO KNOW

Billy’s Back: While it took a total team effort from Atlanta to capture the SoFi Cup, it’s worth revisiting Billy Horschel’s MVP-like effort ahead of Season 2. Sinking what would turn out to be the winning birdie putt to give Atlanta the championship was a confirmation of his excellent play all year long.

The 39-year-old led the league with eight Singles points in the regular season and added five more in the playoffs. He also hit 100% of greens in regulation and played 73 holes, second-most of any player in TGL. As for the intangibles, Horschel was all-in from day one, bringing the energy whenever his team needed a boost and competing at a high level to set the standard entering Season 2.

Start From the Top: It’s only the first match, but it’s a massive one for a New York team that got off to a slow start in Season 1. NYGC began the year 0-2 before battling its way to a No. 4 seed entering the postseason. Now they have an opportunity to avenge the Finals Series sweep and begin a new season on top of the SoFi Cup Standings.

This team showed plenty of heart down the stretch, bolstered by clutch putting and a league-leading 29 overall points from Young. Now they know they have what it takes after falling just short, and they can give themselves an even better chance in 2026 with a win on opening night.

Single-Minded: Last year’s Finals Series showed just how evenly-matched these two teams are. Both matches were decided by just one point and came down to the final hole.

However, Atlanta can point to Singles play as the biggest reason for its 3-0 record against New York in 2025. They outscored NYGC 10-4 in said format, including a 4-0 run over the last four holes in the second and decisive Finals Series match. Changing that dynamic and giving Atlanta a serious fight in Singles is the most obvious way for New York to turn the tides in this budding rivalry.

SINGLES MATCHUPS

Cameron Young vs. Patrick Cantlay: These two squared off in Singles during the second Finals match – Cantlay won the first hole and they halved the second with the Hammer in play. They’ll get it going again at The Spear, a par 5 where Young’s distance is a major advantage. No. 13, Bluebonnet, is drivable for both players, but club selection will likely depend on where the overall match stands.

Matt Fitzpatrick vs. Lucas Glover: While both players tend to stay in the short stuff, Glover didn’t miss a single fairway last season and looks to keep it going at the par-4 Loot on the Line. They finish at On the Rocks, a par-3 playing as the 14th hole where nerves could certainly be a factor.

Xander Schauffele vs. Billy Horschel: The anchor matchup sees two of the best competitors from Season 1 taking on a brand new hole, the par-3 Cenote. There’s multiple ways to play it and we’ll see who gained the most valuable intel during practice sessions. Then it’s on to No. 15, Quick Draw, a lengthy par-5 – Schauffele was 13 yards longer off the tee on average last season, but Horschel led the league in Singles scoring.

THE COURSE

The layout for TGL’s season opener includes several familiar fan favorites, three brand new holes and two redesigned Team Holes.

As always, players will get after it on five par 3s, five par 4s and five par 5s, beginning with the par-4 The Plank. Stone & Steeple, a new hole design, plays as No. 2. The 592-yard par-5 is TGL’s first Gil Hanse design and features a stone wall running along the entire left side of the hole.

Big Apple, a par-4 previously known as Pin Oak, will play as the fifth and marks the debut of TGL Team Holes for 2026 with a nod to New York. All six Team Holes pay tribute to their given squads with locally-themed designs and will be featured in every match that team plays throughout the season.

No. 6 is the par-4 Stinger, another new design that evokes one of Tiger Woods’ favorite shots in name and offers a risk-reward proposition for players off the tee.

Atlanta gets to play its Team Hole at No. 9, Fore-0-Fore, a par-5 previously known as Sidewinder that represents the local area code.

The match concludes with No. 15, Quick Draw, which won the first ever Last Design Standing Competition as the fans’ favorite hole from Season 1. There are multiple ways to play this 671-yard par-5, and we saw plenty of drama here with several matches won and lost at Quick Draw in 2025.

HOLE SPOTLIGHT

No. 12, Cenote, 269 yards

While a 269-yard par-3 on the scorecard isn’t a thrilling sight for most, this is anything but a normal par 3. Cenote is a brand new Agustin Pizá design that features a small elevated green with a massive, sloped canopy behind it.

Players can choose to take dead aim at the green with a long iron or wood. They can also pull driver and blast it 320-plus yards into the backstopping ramp, which will feed balls back onto the green.

Only in TGL.
