The top two teams in the SoFi Cup Standings are set to go head-to-head Monday in the first match of a doubleheader, getting the party started for a stretch of four matches in two days with back-to-back doubleheaders on tap at SoFi Center.

Atlanta Drive GC is currently in first place via tiebreakers, while Boston Common Golf is unbeaten so far. Both teams have won exactly 15 holes on the year, which serves as the first tiebreaker to establish position in the Standings (the second tiebreaker is Singles Holes Won, which Atlanta leads over Boston 8 to 7).

Atlanta won it all last season and Boston finished last, so there's a lot on the line when the defending champs meet the rising Ballfrogs at 5 p.m. ET.

Atlanta gets right back at it for a 9 p.m. tilt with Los Angeles Golf Club, which looks to improve its position after a disappointing loss to The Bay. LAGC is still in third place with 15 holes won this season, and therefore has a chance to climb back into the top two with a victory depending on the result of the first match.

It all gets underway Monday on the campus of Palm Beach State College, where the playoff race continues to take shape ahead of next month's Finals Series.

JUST-IN TIME

Justin Thomas was in the building to see Atlanta’s seven-match winning streak come to an end in an 8-6 loss to Jupiter earlier this month. Now he’s in the lineup for the first time this season, back from injury and ready to help the reigning champs return to their winning ways in a must-see matchup with Boston.

Thomas finished T-4 in Singles points won last season as a major factor in Atlanta’s championship run. He returns to SoFi Center ready to tee it up at the perfect time, with the winner of Monday’s matchup taking first place in the SoFi Cup Standings.

SINGLES MATCHUPS

Chris Gotterup vs. Rory McIlroy: Gotterup, fresh off a win in Phoenix, goes toe-to-toe with McIlroy, whom he out-dueled in the final round to win the 2025 Scottish Open. The two big hitters get started at Bonnie Link, a meaty par 5 that should fit both of their skillsets. Then it’s on to the par 4 Alpine, a launching pad for long drives that should make for an entertaining arms race.

Justin Thomas vs. Keegan Bradley: The second pairing begins at Cut the Sails, a new par 4 that brings eagle into play with a massive downward sloping fairway. They also get to take on The Last Toll, a tricky par 3 where the American vets will have to shape something through or around the broken-down bridge gate.

Patrick Cantlay vs. Michael Thorbjornsen: Birdie might only be good enough to earn a tie at Set In Stone, where both players will be dialed in on the 157-yard par 3. They’ll need to dig deeper in the bag at No. 15, the par 5 Stone & Steeple, where anything left of the fairway is in serious trouble. This should be a big battle among two of the best in the league.

PLAYING ORDER REVEAL

Here's the order in which players will tee off for their teams:

HAMMER AWAY

Los Angeles and Atlanta were the top two teams in Hammer point differential by a wide margin last season. So far, we haven’t seen the same level of strategy and execution in 2026.

Atlanta is third at +2 and Los Angeles ranks last at –7. That helps explain how LAGC already has two losses on the year, despite leading TGL in Triples points won (11) and Triples holes won (9). Both squads are evenly-matched on paper and this matchup could make or break either team’s season. Making the best use of all three Hammers should be priority No. 1 Monday night. Just one ill-timed throw or missed opportunity could prove extremely costly when the Standings are finalized in March.

SINGLES MATCHUPS

Justin Rose vs. Billy Horschel: Mr. Albatross takes on Captain Clutch in a star-studded opening matchup. Par 5 The Spear is up first, a hole on which both guys have plenty of experience. Rose is slightly longer off the tee and has been ridiculously locked in with his fairway woods at SoFi Center, but Horschel remains the best Singles player in TGL. They’ll face an entirely different challenge at Stinger, the par-4 13th where low man wins.

Tommy Fleetwood vs. Patrick Cantlay: These two have gone head-to-head twice in past Ryder Cups and run it back Monday, starting at Straight Up – a short par 4 where Cantlay’s distance advantage could be big. They’ll also take on Cliffhanger, a 151-yard par 3 – Fleetwood could have the slight edge here as the superior putter.

Collin Morikawa vs. Lucas Glover: Morikawa makes his SoFi Center return a week after his victory at Pebble Beach. He matches up with Glover on the par 3 Set In Stone, playing 169 yards. They finish at Caverns, with both players flying blind on the brand new par 5 that could definitely deliver the drama in a close match.

THE COURSE

Monday’s doubleheader features a pair of debut holes, with one for each match. The par 4 Lavender Lane appears first as the sixth hole of Atlanta-Boston. Caverns is slated as the 15th and final hole, concluding Singles with a bang in the second match of the night.

Each match has a unique routing with seven holes featured in both – Cenote, Cliffhanger, Stinger, Bonnie Link, Cut the Sails, Set in Stone and The Last Toll.

HOLE SPOTLIGHT

Caverns, Par 5, 580 Yards

This brand-new Beau Welling design looks like a signature miniature golf hole at scale. For starters, it’s set entirely in a cave. There are overhanging obstacles to avoid off the tee and three options on approach - a safer layup option to the right, a riskier layup to the left, or an all-or-nothing swing for the green.

It’s a surreal environment only possible in SoFi Center with several different ways to take on the challenge. We could also see the match on the line at Caverns, playing as the final hole for Los Angeles vs. Atlanta.
