TV & STREAMING: How To Watch TGL In Your Country
In case you need a quick primer, let’s dive into the basics of the match.
TGL Explained
Three players from each team go head-to-head in a 15-hole match featuring two different formats – nine holes of Triples and six holes of Singles – across a selection of custom-designed holes.
Triples is an alternate-shot format where players will take turns teeing off from hole-to-hole and rotate hitting shots until the hole is finished. Individual players will go head-to-head in a predetermined rotation over the six Singles holes.
TGL 101: Everything you need to know about season 1
Every hole is worth one point unless the Hammer is played (more on that below). The team with the most points at the end of the match wins.
Boston holds the honor on Tuesday and will tee off first and start with the Hammer, which raises the stakes of a hole by one point when played and accepted. The other team then takes possession of the Hammer and could choose to throw it on the same hole, making the hole worth three points, or hold on to it until later in the match.
Teams can decline the Hammer but by doing so concede the hole and the points on offer. However, teams can’t decline the Hammer when it is thrown before the first tee shot on a given hole (as Woods did vs. LAGC in the second match of the season).
The match will go to Overtime if tied after 15 holes, with teams competing in a best two-out-of-three closest-to-the-pin competition to determine the winner.

3 Things to Know
Major League: It’s go time, with Woods and McIlroy bringing a combined 19 major championships to SoFi Center on the campus of Palm Beach State College. Woods beat McIlroy in their lone career singles matchup at the 2019 WGC-Match Play, and the two were last paired up at the 2023 Genesis Invitational. The competitive juices will be flowing.
Par 3 Party: Success at the par 3s has been the most telling development through three matches. The Bay Golf Club, Los Angeles Golf Club and Atlanta Drive GC went unbeaten on the short holes in each of their victories, racking up a combined record of 5-0-10. Jupiter ranks first in TGL in combined birdie-or-better rate on the PGA TOUR last season and is looking to pick up its first victory Monday night to make a move in the SoFi Cup Standings.
Youth Movement: McIlroy, Scott and Bradley aren’t the only ones making their debuts this week. Tom Kim steps into the lineup for JLGC, replacing Max Homa, as the league’s youngest player gets his first crack in prime time. Kim is already a star with seven international wins and we’ll get an up-close look at the phenom Monday.
Singles Matchup
Tiger Woods vs. Rory McIlroy: These two get Singles started at the par-5 10th, The Spear, an early fan favorite with a pinch in the fairway around 300 yards. They take on Alpine for their second matchup at No. 13, where Wyndham Clark and Cameron Young both blasted 360-yard drives for their teams in previous weeks.
Kevin Kisner vs. Adam Scott: Kisner went 0-2 in Singles his first time out and looks to put points on the board against the 44-year-old Australian. Scott has the distance advantage at the par-4 11th, but Kisner should be dialed in at the par-3 14th hole, Set in Stone.
Tom Kim vs. Keegan Bradley: The rising star takes on the crafty veteran to anchor Singles play. Bradley has been great with the irons lately and could have an advantage at the par-3 12th, On the Rocks, which is playing just 135 yards. But Kim’s accuracy will be an asset at the closing par-5, Pin Oak, where a tidy, straight tee shot will reap the rewards.
The Course
This is a first-time layout at SoFi Center with three new holes in play – Sidewinder, Hatchet and Pin Oak. There’s plenty of variety and many of the holes we’ve seen before will play from different tee boxes.
HOLE DESIGNS: Check out the full library of TGL holes
JLGC has already played several of these holes and has had the chance to re-think certain strategies, while it’s all brand new for Boston in its first match of the season.
HOLE SPOTLIGHT
No. 13, Alpine, 535 yards
This meaty par 4 has yielded the longest tee shots of any hole in TGL, with a combined average drive of 330.4 yards. The Bay Golf Club’s Wyndham Clark and New York Golf Club’s Cameron Young each sent moonshots of 360 yards in their respective matches.
Still, there’s plenty of work left from the fairway - only 50% of players have hit this green in regulation through three matches. Woods and McIlroy will definitely let it fly with driver to start, but the second shot into the green will likely be the most crucial for both players as the match enters the closing stretch.
